Employee Benefits


Just as our employees work hard at making Mattson a leader in our industry, Mattson works hard to continuously provide a highly competitive and progressive benefits portfolio for employees.

As a global company, we are proud to offer a competitive and comprehensive benefits package in each of the regions we serve. The information below provides some detail on our domestic (U.S.) benefits plans. Benefits will vary from location to location, depending on cultural norms and requirements. Our benefits will change from time to time, so what you receive may vary from the information included below.

Regular, full time or part-time employees working a minimum of 20 hours per week, and their eligible dependents are eligible for most benefits at Mattson on their first day at work. Among the benefits offered to our employees:

Medical Insurance
Mattson offers its employees and their eligible dependents a choice of medical plans including Blue Cross of California HMO and PPO, and Kaiser for California residents. Mattson also offers the Blue Card PPO plan for employees outside of California.

Dental Insurance
Mattson is pleased to offer employees and their eligible dependents dental coverage through Aetna. You may visit any licensed dentist throughout the country. However by utilizing a network dentist, you will receive a higher level of benefits, for basic and major care.

Vision Insurance
Employees enrolled in a medical plan at Mattson, are automatically enrolled in the vision care plan. Vision benefits are offered to employees and their eligible dependents through the Vision Service Plan (VSP). You may visit any licensed provider throughout the country, however you will receive the highest benefit when utilizing a VSP provider.

Life Insurance
The company provides you with two times your annual salary (up to $800,000 maximum) in life insurance coverage. The option of purchasing additional life insurance for yourself and/or family members is also available, by enrolling in the Voluntary Life Insurance Program.

Accidental Death & Dismemberment
The company provides you with two times your annual salary (up to $800,000 maximum) for death or dismemberment resulting from an accident.

Disability Protection
The company offers programs designed to provide partial income replacement if you are unable to work as a result of an extended illness or disability.

Employee Assistance Program
Mattson offers its employees and their eligible dependents access to Managed Health Network (MHN), a confidential employee assistance program. MHN offers services, resources, and referrals related to a broad range of personal/life issues, including childcare and adoption, eldercare services, work/life balance and stress, family-related counseling, legal consultations, and financial consultations.

Flexible Spending Acounts
Employees may enjoy pre-tax savings by participating in the Health Care Flexible Spending Account Program or the Dependent Spending Account Program.

Tuition Reimbursement
Mattson encourages its employees who are interested in attending school to enhance their career at Mattson. When participating in the program, it will provide for reimbursement of tuition, registration, parking, and books, up to $5,250 per calendar year.

401(k) Retirement Savings Plan
All U.S. employees are immediately eligible to participate in Mattson's 401(k) program. You may defer up to 100% of your pay (subject to the IRS annual maximum) in a pre-tax retirement savings plan. The company matches the first 3% of your contributions. Mattson's matching contribution vests immediately.

Stock Option Plan
Some Mattson employees receive stock options when they start employment. With stock options, you vest for a specified number of options over a period of time. You may exercise your options once you have completed the vesting period.

Employee Stock Purchase Plan
Employees may enroll in our Stock Purchase Plan twice per year, offering the opportunity to purchase Mattson common stock at a 10% discount.

Paid Time Off
Mattson recognizes the value of time away from work. Mattson provides employees with paid time off (PTO) which may be used for vacation, personal time or sick time. In addition, we celebrate a number of holidays per year.

Sabbaticals
To recognize their dedication and hard work, Mattson offers a sabbatical benefit to regular employees who have completed five years of continuous service. . In addition, we provide you with a check equal to two week's of pay at the onset of your sabbatical.

Credit Union
Mattson Technology employees and their eligible dependents may join the Keypoint Credit Union or Technology Credit Union, which provide a variety of consumer banking, lending, and a wide array of other financial services at competitive rates.

Health Club
Employees at our Fremont facility may join a premier health club facility at a significant discount.

Adoption Assistance
Employees who are legally adopting a child under 18 years of age qualify for adoption reimbursement up to a maximum of $3,000 per child.

Domestic Partners
Employees may cover an eligible (same/opposite sex) domestic partner and their children, for most benefits.

Pre-Paid Legal Services
Employees have the opportunity to enroll in the Pre-Paid Legal Services program. This program provides employees and their eligible dependents affordable access to a wide variety of top-rated nationwide law firms. If employees elect to participate, deductions are taken through bi-weekly payroll.

College Savings Plan (Section 529 Plan)
Employees may enroll in the CollegeBound Fund, which enables them to save for qualified higher education expenses, via after-tax contributions.
