| FORMER LAM RESEARCH TAIWAN SALES MANAGER JOINS MATTSON TECHNOLOGY
Appointment of Hsiao is Latest Step to Serve Expanding Asian Market Share
of Theodore Hsiao as Taiwan country manager. Mr. Hsiao,
who brings extensive technical and sales experience to the
position, is charged with overseeing the development and
operations of Mattson Technology’s business in Taiwan.
Prior to joining Mattson Technology, Mr. Hsiao served as
Taiwan sales manager for Lam Research Corporation for six
years, dating back to the establishment of Lam’s direct
operation in Taiwan. Under his leadership, Lam’s business
in Taiwan grew tenfold. In all, Mr. Hsiao has more than 15
years of experience in the electronics and semiconductor
industries. He received an M.S.E.E. degree from the University
of Texas in 1990.

Mattson Technology maintains a strong presence and large
market share throughout Asia. In recent weeks, Mattson Technology
has installed two 300 mm systems in Korea, and announced
the receipt of an order for multiple Aspen CVD systems. Mattson
Technology has also announced follow on orders for Aspen
RTP systems in Singapore.
In another effort to strengthen its business in Asia, Mattson
Technology in October established Mattson Technology Singapore
Pte. Ltd., a direct sales and service organization based
in Singapore to serve customers in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand
and China.
